About this test
Vitamin D is made in the skin from sunlight and is needed to absorb calcium. Deficiency is widespread here, because sun avoidance, covered clothing, air quality and darker skin all reduce how much the body produces. It shows up as aching bones, muscle weakness, low mood and fatigue. The 25-OH form is the one that reflects your actual stores.
