About this test

AMH is produced by developing follicles in the ovaries, so the level reflects how many eggs are still in reserve. It is used in fertility assessment and before IVF, and unlike most hormone tests it can be taken on any day of the cycle. It indicates quantity rather than quality, and a low result does not mean pregnancy is impossible.

What it measures

  • Anti-Müllerian hormone

A note on results. A single test is one part of a clinical picture, not a diagnosis. Discuss your report with a qualified doctor, who will read it alongside your history and examination.
