About this test
Testosterone drives muscle mass, bone density, libido and mood in men. Levels are highest in the early morning and fall through the day, so the sample should be taken before about 10am for a meaningful result. Low levels can be caused by obesity, diabetes, sleep apnoea and some medications as well as by testicular or pituitary problems.
