About this test
A single surface antigen tells you someone is infected but not much else. The full panel separates acute from chronic infection, immunity from vaccination against immunity from past infection, and indicates how infectious a carrier currently is — which is what decides monitoring and treatment.
What it measures
- HBsAg and anti-HBs
- Anti-HBc total and IgM
- HBeAg and anti-HBe
A note on results. A single test is one part of a clinical picture, not a diagnosis. Discuss your report with a qualified doctor, who will read it alongside your history and examination.
