About this test
Hepatitis D only infects people who already have hepatitis B, and the combination progresses considerably faster than B alone. It is worth testing any B-positive patient with unexplained deterioration, because it changes both prognosis and treatment.
What it measures
- Anti-HDV IgM
A note on results. A single test is one part of a clinical picture, not a diagnosis. Discuss your report with a qualified doctor, who will read it alongside your history and examination.
