About this test

Palpitations and blackouts rarely oblige by happening during a ten-second ECG. A Holter records continuously through ordinary activity and sleep, and the symptom diary is what links what you felt to what the trace was doing at that moment.

What it measures

  • Heart rate range over 24 hours
  • Atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias
  • Pauses, ectopics and correlation with symptoms

A note on results. A single test is one part of a clinical picture, not a diagnosis. Discuss your report with a qualified doctor, who will read it alongside your history and examination.
