About this test
The pattern across the antibody panel places the infection in time: VCA IgM with no EBNA indicates a current infection, while EBNA positivity means it happened at least some months ago. Useful in prolonged sore throat, fatigue and unexplained lymph node enlargement.
What it measures
- VCA IgM and IgG
- EBNA IgG
A note on results. A single test is one part of a clinical picture, not a diagnosis. Discuss your report with a qualified doctor, who will read it alongside your history and examination.
