About this test
The NS1 antigen appears in the blood from the first day of fever and stays detectable for around five days, which is exactly the window in which antibody tests are still negative. In dengue season it is the right first test for a sudden high fever with severe body aches, and it is usually ordered alongside a CBC to track the platelet count.
What it measures
- Dengue NS1 antigen
A note on results. A single test is one part of a clinical picture, not a diagnosis. Discuss your report with a qualified doctor, who will read it alongside your history and examination.
